Our Speaker: Ahmad S. Corbitt

Following our January 19th service project, we’ll enjoy box lunches and an inspirational message from Ahmad S. Corbitt, President of the Cherry Hill New Jersey Stake and Director of the New York Office of Public and International Affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

President Corbitt regularly represents the Church at the United Nations and other international activities and events. He interacts with the media on behalf of the Church.

Previously, he was with Delaware-based Corporation Service Company and Coltrin & Asociates, Inc. , a public relations firm. During the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, he acted as a spokesperson for the Salt Lake Olympic Committee. He was a successful trial and appellate lawyer.

President Corbitt is married to the former Jayne L. Joslin. They are the parents of six children and have four grandchildren.

Earlier this year, President Corbitt was one of the featured speakers at the Church Commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Priesthood Revelation. The fireside took place on Sunday June 8, 2008 in the Tabernacle on Temple Square and celebrated the 30th anniversary of the 1978 revelation that extended the Priesthood to all worthy male members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He said, “We see the future of the Church in our youth. I am inspired as I have the privilege of serving, teaching and counseling them. They are a choice generation. So many are totally committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have an understanding of the importance the Atonement plays in their individual lives…Let us teach them of the strength that comes from unity and the kingdom of God on the earth that recognizes the rich heritage of ethnicity yet rejoices in our oneness through our Father’s plan.”

We look forward to hearing from President Corbitt!

"As we seek Christ, as we find Him, as we follow Him, we shall have the Christmas spirit, not for one fleeting day each year, but as a companion always. We shall learn to forget ourselves. We shall turn our thoughts to the greater benefit of others." ~ President Thomas S. Monson, First Presidency Message, Ensign, December 1987
